Sandusky Wants Trial Delayed

05.09.12 | Bob Price

Attorney Joe Amendola made the request this morning, hours before he is to be in court asking for evidence to prepare for the trial on 52 counts of child sex abuse.

Amendola wrote that he is "very concerned he will be unable to effectively and adequately represent the defendant at trial if the defendant's cases are not continued ..."

A hearing on evidence had already been scheduled for this afternoon.

Sandusky has sought records of nearly every minute of his accusers' lives — traffic
tickets, school detention, employment records.

Amendola sent broad subpoenas out to several state agencies, school districts and doctors seeking more information. Prosecutors called it a fishing expedition.
