Heart specialists at 2 major hospitals have teamed up in upstate New York to showcase a brand new heart surgery. Doctors at the University of Rochester Medical Center and Rochester General Hospital say this technique will help heart patients who normally aren't candidates for surgery. The less invasive procedure uses a catheter threaded through an arter to deliver an artifical valve to the heart. The team just finished their fourth successful surgery. It's called Trans-Catheter Aortic Valve Replacement, and it was just approved last fall by the F.D.A.
