Rochester Man Charged With Threatening The President

Brandon Correa of Rochester has been indicted by a federal grand jury for making a "direct threat" to kill President Barack Obama, according to a release from federal prosecutors. He was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jonathan W. Feldman on Tuesday. Prosecutors said Correa, 30, is also accused of making threats to kill Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Lt. Gov. Robert Duffy. State Police had monitored Correa's Twitter feed after threats against the governor and lieutenant governor, according to an affidavit from Secret Service Special Agent Joel Blackerby. Correa also allegedly Tweeted a threat against the president, saying in part, "im going to watch you die." When questioned at his home, Correa allegedly said he has received messages from Jehovah for more than four years. During questioning, Correa said, "Obama is pure evil and must die," Blackerby alleged in the affidavit. Correa has been released and is due back in federal court on Aug. 8.
