Richland Ny Fire Kills 8

Firefighters in Richland, New York have recovered the bodies of eight people killed in a tragic house fire. Oswego County Undersheriff Robert Lighthall believes the all of the victims are part of an extended family.

Investigators are saying the home at 1133 County Route 48 was more than one hundred years old and had no smoke detectors. No firefighters were injured. The blaze was extinguished around 7 a.m.

The owner of the dwelling was able to escape the flames. Names, ages and genders of the victims have not been made public.
