Thirty-eight alleged Bloods gang members and associates are facing numerous charges by Bronx Police including conspiracy to commit murder and narcotics trafficking.  The 160 count indictment includes five defendants already under arrest in the shooting of a teenage bystander last November.  Vada Vasquez was shot as she walked home from school.  The indictment also covers several attempted murders and assaults that occurred in May of 2008 and November of 2009 involving six victims including Vasquez.  During the investigation, undercover cops also made over 70 purchases of drugs and most occurred near school grounds.  The investigation began in October of 2009 as a result of an alleged turf war between rival gangs dealing drugs near East 169th Street and Clinton Avenue.  The conspiracy charges cover from 2005 to 2010.
