(Albany, NY)  --  New York Governor David Paterson has reportedly decided not to seek election this fall.  The "New York Daily News" reports Paterson has decided not to run for his first full term as governor this fall, but will not resign and will serve the remainder of his term.

The governor has been under fire for allegedly contacting a woman who had accused one of his top aides, David Johnson, of domestic violence.  Paterson said earlier this week he was instructing State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo to investigate whether his administration or State Police contacted the alleged victim in the domestic dispute case involving Johnson.
