The unofficial results are in and Representative David Argall has been elected to fill the shoes of late-State Senator James Rhoades. The Republican took the victory last night with 62 percent of the votes.

Rep. Argall will now serve Pennsylvania's 29th senatorial district which includes all of Schuylkill county and parts of Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Monroe and Carbon counties.

Stephen Lukach Jr., who is in his sixth term as Schuylkill County clerk of courts, was Argall's Democratic opponent. Lukach conceded defeat late last night. Poll workers reported light turnout.
