Reid No Healthcare Vote In Senate In August

(Washington, DC) -- The Senate won't be taking up a heathcare reform bill before September. That's according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who made that announcement yesterday at the Capitol. Both the Senate and House are trying to craft comprehensive reform bills.

The Reid announcement represents a setback for President Obama, who has been aggressively pushing for a bill before the annual August congressional recess. It comes after Obama's latest townhall-style meeting about healthcare in Ohio and just one day after the President made a pitch for the plan in a prime-time news conference.
