President Obama is urging the American people to remain vigilant about possible terrorist threats. He made the statement while speaking about a Nigerian man's alleged failed attempt on Christmas Day to bomb a Northwest passenger jet as it was landing in Detroit. The President said Americans should feel confident about flying and listed additional airport security measures that have been put in place since the Friday incident.

Obama has ordered a thorough review of the terror watch list system in the wake of the attempted plane bombing. The suspect, Umar Abdulmutallab [[ ahb-dul-moo-TAH-lob ]], was reportedly on that watch list and allegedly told investigators he had links to al-Qaeda in Yemen. The President also has ordered a full review of all screening procedures and policies at the nation's airports.
