Ppl Lowers Its Rates

The cost of electricity is going down-- if you use one of Pennsylvania's biggest electric carriers.  The price of electricity for PPL Electric Utilities' default customers will drop slightly next month. For residential customers it will now be 8.8 cents a kilowatt hour, down from the current 9 cents. It applies only to customers who receive "default" supply service directly from PPL. For the average residential customer who uses 1,000 kilowatts of electricity a month, that translates to a monthly decrease of just over $2. Not much-- but some say every dollar-- is more in their pocket.
