Power Problems In Pennsylvania

Wednesday’s snow-and-ice storm left more than a million people in the dark - the vast majority of them in Pennsylvania.  The vast majority of Pennsylvania's power problems were in the Philadelphia area.  Close to 8-hundred-thousand people were left powerless at the height of the storm in the Keystone State's largest city.  Governor Corbett has urged patience in restoring electricity as crews battle below zero windchills and more slippery road conditions today. One official likened the damage to what you'd see after a hurricane.  It could be the weekend before the lights come back on. The Red Cross has opened three shelters in southeastern Pennsylvania to assist in the storm recovery effort.
