A US Airways flight from upstate New York to Philadelphia was forced to land Thursday afternoon after people on the plane smelled smoke. Pilots landed the plane at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport just before 1:30pm.

A television station report says the propeller driven plane carried 32 passengers in addition to its crew of three. No one was hurt and firefighters who inspected the plane found no signs of a fire.

U.S. Airways worked to find alternate flights and accomodations for the passengers. The airline spokesperson said the plane is owned by U.S. Airways but is operated by Piedmont Airlines.
