Petraeus Orders Probe Into Abducted Aid Workers Death In Afghanistan

(Kabul) -- The U.S. military says General David Petraeus has ordered a probe into the death of an abducted British aid worker killed in Afghanistan last week during an effort to rescue her. Initial reports found one of the captors close to Linda Norgrove detonated the explosion. Military officials said in a statement today, a closer look at the surveillance footage and discussion with rescue team members just doesn't add up.
Because of the inconsistencies, officials have been unable to determine Norgrove's cause of death. This comes on the heels of a news conference by British Prime Minister David Cameron, who said Norgrove may have been killed by a grenade from foreign forces.
The 36-year-old Norgrove worked for a U.S. aid group and was kidnapped on September 26th along with three Afghan co-workers. The group was in a remote part of Kunar province that borders Pakistan at the time of the abduction.
