Pennsylvania House To Make Decision On School Choice Bill

Pennsylvania lawmakers have been considering allowing students to choose charter schools over public schools for a while now. The topic came up again today in Harrisburg at this morning's public hearing sponsored by the House Education Committee. The House has to beat a June 30th deadline to get the bill passed. The proposed law would provide public dollars for students of lower economic status to attend private schools. The bill has been slow to win support from conservative senators though, who view it as too costly.
