Penn State Cancels Naming Of College President

10.31.13 | Bob Price

An abrupt about-face by Penn State officials who canceled a public meeting on Friday to name a university president.  It’s triggered more complaints from critics who say the university's culture of secrecy erodes public trust.  Current President Rodney Erickson stepped in to replace Graham Spanier who was forced from office because of the Jerry Sandusky scandal.  Erickson says he will retire next June or until Penn State finds a replacement. The university's 18th president will lead more than 96,000 students across 22 campuses.
