Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett unveiled his budget yesterday. The 28 billion dollar budget doesn't raise the personal income tax or state sales tax, but you could pay more for gas. Corbett wants to increase the wholesale tax gasoline stations pay on gasoline, meaning it would be passed to you. The budget reduces pensions for state workers, and new hires won't have a pension, but a 401K, where they must contribute at least 6 percent of their salary. 90 million more will go to public schools. More fees for driving on a suspended license, higher license fees, but licenses will only have to be renewed every 6 years instead of every 4. The final budget vote will be held in June.
