Panasonic Skype Team Up For Free Tv Talk
01.06.10 |
Panasonic and Skype are teaming up so people can talk to their televisions. The electronics giant announced on Tuesday that by spring its Internet-able, high-def televisions will feature Skype. A Panasonic camera will plug into the TV and a microphone will be able to pick up sound from "couch distance." Calls from the TV to Skype and to a Skype-equiped computer will be free, while calls from the TV to non-Skype phones will have a charge. Although no price has been set for the televisions, cost for the camera/microphone will be below 200 dollars. Panasonic made the announcement one day before the opening of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas
