Pa Nh Are The Top 2 States For Student Debt

Pennsylvania college students graduating with the second highest debt load of any state in the nation is weighing heavily on the minds of state lawmakers. It's a factoid they learned from the Independent Fiscal Office last week. Pennsylvania is ranked right behind New Hampshire. Students graduating from Penn State, Pitt, Temple and Lincoln universities leave with an average debt of between $32,000 and $37,000. The facts had several House members Monday calling for a bigger investment in higher education than the $1.6 billion that Gov. Tom Corbett proposed in his $28.4 billion budget.
