Pa Medical Marijuana Bill Moves Forward

A Medical Marijuana Bill is gaining steam in Pennsylvania. Senate Bill 1182, or the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act, would legalize the use of medical marijuana by patients, including children, as prescribed by attending physicians. The bill is sponsored by Democrat Daylin Leach and Republican Mike Folmer. It marks the first time a medical marijuana bill has been introduced in Pennsylvania with bipartisan support. Governor Corbett is opposed to medicinal marijuana. Attorney General Kathleen Kane says she does not support widespread legalization of the drug, but adds she is studying whether or not to support its legalization when prescribed by a doctor.
