Pa Liquor Privatization Hearing Update

How did the liqour privatization hearing go in Harrisburg yesterday? Two supermarket executives, including one from Wegman’s, based in Rochester, didn't exactly get a warm welcome from Pennsylvania state senators who are exploring the liberalization of Pennsylvania's wine, beer and liquor laws. Senators seemed hostile to the supermarket executives-- asking why liquor stores should suffer, so alcohol could be more readily available. The hearing was the second of three planned before a decision will be made on whether to open sales to hundreds of businesses across the state.
