Pa A G Promises To Investigate Price Gouging Allegations

After customers complained their electric companies were artificially inflating prices in some markets, Attorney general Kathleen Kane says she will investigate the accusations.  In some parts of Lackawanna County, electric rates quadrupled this year from last.  State law says it’s illegal for rates to increase anymore than 20 percent, even during states of emergency. The A-G wants customers who think they were conned to send her their bills, contracts, and any promotional materials they may have received from their power supplier.
