A Quinnipiac poll out Thursday shows President Obama and Kirsten Gillibrand are sailing in New York State. Obama has a 62 to 34 percent lead against Mitt Romney among likely voters, and Kirsten Gillibrand is leading 64 to 27 percent against Wendy Long in the race for U.S. Senate. The race between Republican Representative Ann Marie Beurkle and Dan Maffei in Syracuse is close. Both had 43 percent support. New York has twice as many Democrats as Republicans, and hasn't elected a Republican presidential candidate since Ronald Reagan in 1984.
