Nys Gop Looks To Do Some Damage In 2014

As the dust settles on this week’s off-year elections, NY Republicans are gearing up for 2014, hoping to win a statewide seat for the first time in more than a decade.  The biggest seat is the governor’s mansion but the GOP has no declared candidate and faces a huge hurdle in upsetting a popular governor in Andrew Cuomo who has name recognition and more importantly ....a lot of money in his war chest....over 30 million dollars at last count.  Last month ...GOP leaders tried to recruit Donald Trump to run against Cuomo but the real estate mogul rejected the overture. State GOP chairman Ed Cox says Republican victories in major counties back on Tuesday shows they have the right message of fiscal austerity and are in no hurry to recruit a candidate. In 2014, seats for governor, attorney general and comptroller will be on the ballot, as well as all 213 seats in the state legislature and New York’s 27 congressional seats.
