Nys Assembly Senate May Pass Minimum Wage Hike

It's looking more and more like New York may pass a minimum wage hike. Governor Cuomo proposed raising the minimum wage from 7-25 an hour to 8-75 an hour during his State of the State address, and now it looks like a compromise is brewing in the Senate and Assembly. The Assembly is looking to "index" the wage, meaning it would adjust automatically to inflation. The Senate, critical of that, but they may allow it if they can get tax breaks they have long sought for businesses. Cuomo has said he'd like the wage to increase July 1st.
