Nyc Churches Get Kicked Out

02.13.12 | Jeremy Miller

Dozens of churches around New York City will have to find a different spot to pray and hold ceremonies on Sundays. Yesterday was the final day churches held services inside public schools because the city is now enforcing a court ruling that bans churches from using school property. People supportive of the move say churches should not be using facilities paid for by public tax dollars for worship. Churchgoers, meanwhile, say they chip in as well to the schools and point out that the buildings are not being used by anyone else on Sundays.
