(Buffalo, NY)  --  The state is threatening to shut down three Western New York casinos operated by the Seneca Nation due to a dispute over money.  Lawyer for the governor say the Senecas are breaching an agreement by withholding revenue-sharing payments.  In a letter sent to the casino operators, the state threatens to void the operating agreement and shut down the gaming centers.

The state also accuses the tribe of failing to pay for costs of having state police on duty at the facilities.  The Senecas say it is the state which actually broke the agreement by allowing racetracks in Hamburg and Batavia to have gambling operations.  If the two sides do not meet in 14 days, the state is threatening to take the matter to an arbitrator.
