Ny Senator Tom Libous Has A Challenger

Someone is running against the second most powerful Republican in New York state: Binghamton Senator Tom Libous. A mid-level appeals court Thursday reversed a lower court's decision to throw out petition signatures of Republican state Senate candidate Denver Jones. It means there will now be a primary. The state Supreme Court ruled a lower court erred in rejecting the petitions of Jones, a Tioga County businessman. It's the second blow to Libous this year- he's under investigation by the FBI for allegedly using his political clout to get his son a job. Jones says he still has a primary to win-- but quote "this is a step in the right direction."
