Twenty-two states have heat warnings and advisories today. Blistering, potentially dangerous heat in a hundred major cities today-- including Saint Louis, where it will be 108 degrees without the heat index. Chicago hit 100 degrees for the first time in seven years Thursday. Emergency room doctors say there has been a spike in the number of people showing up with heat exhaustion. They say soda doesn't qualify as water, and even people who are healthy can't fight off 100 degree temperatures. There are heat advisories in both Pennsylvania and New York, where the heat is expected to top 90 degrees.
