Ny Lawmakers End Session With Key Issues

New York State Lawmakers are expected to adjourn their 2014 session one week from today-- without voting on several high-profile issues. Those issues include medical marijuana, public campaign financing and a minimum wage increase. In exchange for the backing of the left-leaning Working Families Party, Governor Cuomo vowed to work to give Democrats control of the Senate, either by defeating Republicans or by targeting renegade Democrats that balk at returning to the party-faithful. That promise injected a significant dose of partisanship into the waning days of the session and worsened the outlook for these high-profile bills.
