(New York, NY)  --  New York Governor David Paterson is expressing interest in meeting with the developers of a planned Islamic community center and mosque two blocks from the World Trade Center site.  The governor would like to meet as early as this week to offer state land and another location for the 13-story center.

But in an exclusive interview with New York One News, the developer, Sharif El-Gamal, says he has no interest in moving the proposed mosque and considers the site, in his words, "nowhere near" Ground Zero.  The developer, in a statement, says there is no planned meeting with Governor Paterson and no communication with the governor's office.  But El-Gamal says he is open to future talks with the governor.
