Ny Gas Drilling Report Tops 4 Thousand Pages Still No Release Date

The Department of Environmental Conservation in New York is getting closer to releasing their report on whether or not to allow gas drilling in New York state. Their report just topped 4-thousand pages this week, but it's still not quite ready for release. Many of those pages are typed responses to Marcellus Shale drilling questions raised during the public comment period. The agency says it's been working nonstop, pulling overtime and doing extra time, to make sure there is no question unanswered before their decision is made. D.E.C. Commissioner Joe Martens says rumors on drilling only in the Southern Tier are untrue. He also says there is still no timetable on when the report will be released.
