Ny Assembly Passes Yet Another Gas Drilling Moratorium

New York lawmakers are looking to put a stop to the controversial natural gas drilling process known as hydrofracking.  The state Assembly has passed legislation extending a moratorium on hydraulic fracturing until May of 2015, and is calling for more studies on the environmental impact of fracking.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is currently waiting to hear from state health officials regarding a report on hydrofracking before he makes any decision on the issue.  The bill still has to pass the state Senate.
