Months after the Cuomo administration promised a decision "within weeks" on whether to allow hydraulic fracturing for natural gas, it now says there's "no timetable for a decision."
State officials say recent meetings with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have provided new information that's factoring into their health review-- and they have no idea how much longer it will take to make a decision whether to allow the controversial drilling technique in New york state. High volume hydrofracking is fiercly opposed by environmental groups-- but supporters say shale deposits are providing a much-needed economic boost.
