New York State will reopen the rule-making process for natural gas drilling. State administrators said Sunday they will reopen the process on high volume hydrofracking and hold at least 1 public hearing before finalizing regulations, meaning it's very likely the November 29th deadline to have the rules finalized will be missed, and so will hopes that gas drilling will be ok'd before the end of the year. High volume hydrofracking has been banned for 4 years in New York. The state still has to do its own environmental and health reviews, and they said sunday those will be completed before the rules are finalized, too.
