New York Has The Second Best Schools In The Nation

New York State has been ranked among the best public schools in the nation. For the third consecutive year, "Education Week" has ranked Maryland's public education system as number 1 in the nation-- but New York is not far behind them, sitting in second place in the whole country. Maryland schools have received an overall grade of B-plus from the news outlet-- which measured student achievement, school finance and education policies. New York was tied with Massachusetts with a score of "B." Schools in the District of Columbia ranked near the bottom of the list with a grade of D-plus, coming in just ahead of last-place Nebraska. Pennsylvania scored in the middle.
