New York Attorney General Calls For Release Of Secret Attica Prison Documents

New York State is seeking the release of sealed Attica Prison Riot documents. The 1971 rebellion remains the nation's bloodiest prison rebellion. 32 inmates and 11 civilian employees died; the majority of the fatalities occuring when state troopers stormed the prison yard. Now, the Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says he wants some of the information that's been sealed to be released the public, including a 570 page document in three volumes that was written by the former state judge who headed the investigation of the riot and the aftermath. Schneiderman says victims' families deserve to know the details.
