New Gun Laws Supported By Most New Yorkers Even Upstaters

What do New Yorkers think about having the toughest gun control law in the nation? The study, released by Sienna College, shows 73 percent of voters supported banning assault weapons and magazine clips with more then seven bullets. 91-percent said they supported increasing penalties for illegal gun purchases. Nearly 700 people from across the state were polled after the law took effect. Opponents to the new gun law say it matters how the questions are worded. They say participants weren't asked if they thought their Second Amendment rights were violated-- or if they were comfortable having weapons confiscated, or being logged on a statewide registry.
