Moreland Commission Proposes Campaign Reforms

New York's anti-corruption commission is proposing the use of public funds to help pay for political campaigns to combat Albany's notorious misconduct. The commission created by Gov. Andrew Cuomo six months ago....seeks to lower limits for contributions and greater disclosure of those who contribute to politicians and political parties. Cuomo created the commission after the latest spate of corruption cases brought by federal prosecutors. In all, about 30 public officials have been involved in corruption cases over the last seven years.
