Millions Handed Out To Ny To Create Jobs

The Finger Lakes region of New York state took home the most cash from New York's Regional Economic Development Council awards. It's Albany's version of "The Hunger Games," in which 10 regional councils across the state are pitted against each other to compete for nearly three-quarters of a billion dollars.

Here's how the regions line up:

Finger Lakes - $96.2 million
Central NY - $93.8 million
Mid-Hudson - $92.8 million
Southern Tier - $91.1 million
North Country - $90.2 million
Mohawk Valley - $59.7 million
Long Island - $59.7 million
Western NY - $52.8 million
New York City - $51.4 million
Capital - $50.3 million
