Mass Birthday Parties In Pa Schools

   School birthday parties may be a little less fun in Pennsylvania with some new guidelines officials are looking at. The state wants schools to consider allowing one combined birthday celebration per month for all the kids in each classroom as a way to preserve instructional time. To make it worse, at the "combined parties", the State Board of Education is recommending that schools strongly encourage parents to offer no more than a single homemade sweet. They say there's too much sugar getting into the classrooms.
