(Buffalo, NY)  --  A cat who almost became dinner for a New York man now has a new home.  Buffalo police pulled over Gary Korkuc on Sunday night for allegedly blowing past a stop sign.  When officers approached his car they reportedly heard a cat crying from inside the trunk.  Officers subsequently found Navarro the cat in a cage "marinating" in a mixture of crushed red peppers, chilli pepper, salt and oil.

Korkuc admitted to police that he planned to eat the cat because the animal was ill-tempered.  The 51-year-old Korkuc was charged with cruelty to animals, while the nearly-cooked cat has been adopted by a woman from upstate New York.  Along with a second chance at life, Navarro has been renamed Oliver.
