Major Winter Storm Heading For Ny Pa On Friday

A snow storm 900 miles wide is threatening travel today in the midwest, and it's heading toward us. Five million people are under a blizzard warning today. Iowa and Wisconsin are seeing a foot and a half of snow and 50 mile an hour winds. In the midwest, snow has been falling at 3 inches an hour. Come Friday morning, conditions will start to deteriorate in New York and Pennsylvania. The National Weather Service is predicting 35 mile an hour wind gusts, 5 to 13 inches of snow for eastern Pennsylvania, the Twin Tiers and central New York, and up to a foot and a half of snow for western New York and the snow belts. The snow will come Friday morning and run through Saturday afternoon, with the heaviest falling Friday afternoon and night.Winter Storm watches are in effect right now across most of New York and Pennsylvania.
