Local Update To National Day Of Prayer
05.06.11 |
One of thousands of prayer gatherings in New York and Pennsylvania on the National Day of Prayer Thursday happened in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Congressman Glenn Thompson spoke at an event at the Community Arts Theatre in Williamsport last night and told Family Life News why his faith matters to him so much, as a politician. "The country has been blessed. The religious foundations on which this country was founded-- we can find them walking the halls of Congress-- I see them every day, the scriptural references within our founding documents. But if we don't stay true to prayer, or stand strong in our faith-- if we wander from that, if we abandon that-- I don't think we can expect to have God's favor and blessing in this country."
