Lawyers Want Videos Of Prop 8 Trial Released

Lawyers for two gay couples are calling for video footage of the Proposition 8 trial in California to be made public. The new judge in the trial says he needs time to decide whether to release the footage of last year's ruling to overturn the ban on same-sex marriage.  Lawyers called on the judge to release the footage during a hearing yesterday.  Those who support tradional marriage don't want the tapes to be made public, saying they'll put witnesses who testified at risk for harassment or violence. The former trial judge, Vaughn Walker, kept the tapes private after the Supreme Court ruled to block their release on YouTube.
