Lawmakers Deal With House Amendments To Table Games Bill

Table games took center stage as Pennsylvania House members slogged through almost 180 amendments to a table games bill Sunday. House Minority Whip Mike Turzai says many lawmakers saw a rare opportunity to fix the five-year-old gaming law and piled on.Turzai says lawmakers' top reform issues included shifting enforcement powers from the Gaming Control Board to the State Police. Turzai adds the jury is still out concerning whether the amendment changes will force the state to refund license fees. Pennsylvania has been operating without a budget for more than 90 days.
