There is a bill in the works in Pennsylvania that would allow teachers to carry guns. State Rep. Greg Lucas from Erie and Crawford counties plans on introducing the bill soon. It's called the school Personnel Righ To Carry Act, and it would give teachers, administrators, and other school personnel the ability to carry firearms, but it would not be mandatory. Staffers would have to go through background checks and training, including some training that law enforcement officers go through. Lucas is a former teacher, and said teachers are basically sitting ducks. He'd like to see the bill passed in June.So far, it has several co-sponsors. If you want to see a copy of his bill, check it out here under a button called "School Personnel Right To Carry."
