(Washington, DC)  --  Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood is retracting his surprising statement earlier today urging drivers of recalled Toyotas to stop driving them.  In remarks to a House panel, LaHood said, "if anyone owns one of these vehicles, stop driving it."  Hours later, he said his comment was a misstatement.  He added concerned owners of those vehicles should contact dealers for advice and necessary repairs.  Toyota is dealing with a massive recall due to sticky gas pedals and fallout from the company's handling of the problem.
