Keep Your Dogs Away From Public Fireworks Displays

Fireworks are not a dog's best friend. Experts say loud explosions from the rocket's red glare not only frighten your faithful companion, but they also can severely damage a dog's sensitive ears.  Veterinarians recommend leaving your dog at home if you're going out in public to watch fireworks this July 4th.  They also say keep pets in a safe place where they can't flee should they become scared.  Local animal shelters say there's a spike in lost pets during Fourth of July because dogs are known to run away from home when they are spooked.
