(Kabul)  --  The campaigns of Afghan President Hamid Karzai and his chief rival Abdullah Abdullah both have declared presidential election victories.  Both camps also say there is no need for a run-off election in October.  However, election officials say no confirmed results have been released.

U.S. envoy Richard Holbrooke says he's certain the outcome of the vote will be disputed.  Analysts say any uncertainty over the outcome or accusations of widespread fraud could negatively impact the country and lead to civil unrest.
