Today is World Arthritis Day.  New figures from the Centers for Disease for Disease Control and Prevention show nearly 50 million Americans are living with the disease in the U.S.  CDC epidemiologist Dr. Jennifer Hootman says new research suggests the number of people suffering from the painful and often crippling effects of arthritis is increasing by about one-million per year.  An estimated 300-thousand children have been diagnosed with juvenile arthritis.

To help raise awareness, the Arthritis Foundation is calling on American's to "Do Blue" today.  The foundation is asking people to wear something blue today to help call attention to the disease and urge the nation to take action against the most common cause of disability in the U.S.
